HFC midfielder Ayush Adhikari speaks to the media ahead of #CFCHFC
Hyderabad: Hyderabad FC are back in action this week, away from home.
They travel to Chennai to take on Owen Coyle’s Chennaiyin FC this Wednesday.
In what promises to be an exciting ISL clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the two teams will be determined to get back to winning ways after recent results.
Hyderabad FC midfielder Ayush Adhikari joined Assistant coach Shameel Chembakath in the pre-match press conference ahead of this game.
Here is what Ayush Adhikari had to say
On the recent results…
The last three matches were very hard for us. Apart from the game against Odisha, I think we were a bit unfortunate with the results. The chances we created against them is a massive positive for all of us.
😍 MATCHDAY in Chennai!
Plenty of drama in store in this South Indian battle 🔥

To play against Mumbai in their home was very difficult but still, we dominated them in the second half. The same against Goa as well. Maybe we just lack a bit of luck in the final third. We want to believe that this is just a phase and that things will change, starting in Chennai.
On his role in the team…
We have been unfortunate, but it is also frustrating that we are creating so many chances but are not able to finish them, like in the last few games. The focus is obviously now on finishing, but we will concentrate on putting on a good attacking performance too.
It is also important that we maintain our defensive shape, but yes, we need to score to get a positive result from this game and we are working hard for the same.
On the clash coming up…

CFC have not had great results either recently. We all know how dangerous they can be on their day. We know it is good to watch attractive football like we tried in the last two games. But will results not on our side, it is no longer about playing a good brand football only.
This game is more about finding our rhythm and building a winning mentality. We are ready to get stuck in, stand tough and will not shy away from the dirty side of the game. We know it will be a tough and physical game with a lot of tackles
Personally as well, I think it always gives you extra motivation when you play against your former team and we are ready for it all.
