Fondly known as Opi, Lalawmpuia is an attacker known for his blistering pace and a keen eye for goal. He started his career with Pune FC U18s and soon joined the youth team at DSK Shivajians where he showed enough consistency for FC Goa to snap him up in 2017. He played for the U18’s for a year and was soon promoted to the reserve side and last season, he was a part of the first team at FC Goa. He has three goals in four appearances for the India U19 side and is regarded as one of the most exciting attackers in the country. The 20-year-old was a part of the first team under Manolo Marquez in the 2020-21 ISL campaign.
