‘Our coach keeps telling us to express ourselves without any fear’

Mohammad Yasir speaks about result against JFC, the morale in the team and more…

Hyderabad FC missed out on all three points against Jamshedpur but the performance of Mohammad Yasir was a huge positive to take from this game. The ‘Hero of the Match’ on the night, Yasir spoke about the frustrating result, how HFC approach such games, the spirit in the camp and more…

On the result…

We should have won the game. We missed a few chances, Asish and Aridane, both should have scored. But these things happen in football. What is important is how you bounce back. We know we still have a lot of areas we need to improve on and we hope to come back stronger in the next match.

On the fearless approach to the game…

Yes, our coach keeps telling us to express ourselves without any fear. Win, lose or draw, this is how we, as a team, want to play in every game.

On losing control of the game in the second half…

We played really well in the first half, and kept good possession of the ball, but it was a bit difficult in the second half. Passing options were reduced and may be a bit of fatigue, but there were no options to hit long balls as well. We lost Aridane for the last quarter of the game and that influenced our style of play.

We tried to maintain our shape but it was really difficult against a strong Jamshedpur side. We hope we can put in a better performance till the final whistle in our next game.

On the morale within the team…

The senior players are all supportive. We stay and play together as a team, even in training and off the field. We are ready to help each other, and even during a game, we talk to each other and support each other, which is important for any team.

We have a lot of bonding within the squad, as we stay together and train together. The motivation we get from everyone at the club has also been helpful.
