HFC’s new head coach speaks about preparing for the new season, the players at the club and more…

Panaji, Goa: Ahead of the 2020-21 Indian Super League campaign, Hyderabad FC appointed the experienced Manolo Marquez as the new head coach of the club. The 52-year old Spaniard has tons of experience under his belt, having managed a number of Spanish clubs during his two-decade long coaching career.

In an interview with The Final Whistle, he spoke about his preparations for the new season, about football in India and his biggest challenge at HFC.

“The biggest challenge is to get players to a competitive level and you can obtain it if you work hard in every training session with concentration and a great hunger to learn,” the Spaniard said.

Talking about the style of play he wants to implement at Hyderabad FC, Manolo added, “I like to win, but there are a lot of ways to get there. I prefer to play an attractive brand of football but if you can’t, it is very important to adapt to the style of your players and the way they want to play,”
