Nigerian hitman Bart Ogbeche extends Hyderabad FC stay

ISL’s Record Goalscorer to continue leading HFC’s attack

Hyderabad: After a record-breaking Indian Super League campaign, Hyderabad FC have extended the stay of 2021-22 ISL Golden Boot winner Bartholomew Ogbeche, the club announced on Friday.

The 37-year-old signed a one-year extension with the club and will be a part of Manolo Marquez’s squad defending the ISL title in the 2022-23 campaign.

Ogbeche who won the Golden Boot last season, registered a record equaling 18 goals in a single campaign, including the first perfect hat-trick the Indian Super League has ever seen. The Nigerian goalscorer has now spent four seasons in the country, amassing 60 goal contributions (53 goals and 7 assists) in just 77 games, and is currently the leading scorer in the league’s history.

The former Nigerian international has also achieved a rare feat of winning back-to-back ISL titles in 2020-21 and 2021-22.

Bart Ogbeche joins Joao Victor, Joel Chianese, Borja Herrera, Javi Siverio and Odei Onaindia as Hyderabad FC complete their overseas signings for the new season.
