Hyderabad FC complete signing of Leander D’Cunha

26-year-old adds experience to young and exciting squad at HFC

Hyderabad: Hyderabad FC have completed the signing of Leander D’Cunha, the club announced on Wednesday.

D’Cunha is a solid full-back, who has been around Indian football for a long time.

He started his career at the SESA Football Academy where he spent a couple of years as a teenager. He soon joined the Churchill Brothers Academy in 2015 before being snapped up by the Gaurs, who signed him for their reserve side.

D’Cunha impressed enough to earn a senior side call-up in 2020 and he has ever since been a mainstay in the ISL squad.

A right-back by trait, D’Cunha 24 I-League appearances and 11 ISL appearances to add to his impressive games in the Durand Cup, the Super Cup and the AFC Champions League.

He will look to make an impact, on and off the field in this new-look HFC side.
