10-men Hyderabad battle hard to win tough point at the Maidaan

Both teams pushed hard in a entertaining goalless draw

Hyderabad: Hyderabad FC toiled hard to earn a precious point in their first game back home in the 2024-25 Indian Super League season,

The Nawabs kept their first clean sheet, in spite of the red card to defender Parag Shrivas as the intense clash between Hyderabad and Chennaiyin FC ended in a 0-0 draw here on Tuesday.

Abdul Rabeeh was on top of his game, troubling the CFC backline all night while Cy Goddard, Ramhlunchhunga and Allan Paulista all did their bit.

There were a couple of close chances that could have easily changed the result at either end. but it was a valiant effort from the pairing of Alex Saji and Stefan Sapic at the back, aided by Mohammed Rafi and Lenny Rodrigues, that helped Hyderabad to a well-earned point on the night.

Arshdeep Singh also pulled out a series of superb saves and will be happy with his effort in keeping his first clean sheet of the season.

Parag Shrivas had a couple of clumsy moments that reduced HFC to just 10-men but with a noisy Yellow and Black behind them, the Nawabs managed to keep CFC at bay all game.

Speaking to the media after the game, Head Coach Thangboi Singto said, β€œIt was a team effort and everybody did their job in a well deserved result and a clean sheet.”

β€œI am happy for each and every player who was on the pitch and also everyone off it. The support, the push and the desire to be here, from everyone involved at the club deserve these kinds of results and we hope we can only get better from here,” the coach added.

Stefan Sapic put in a solid performance on his ISL debut, while Isaac Vanmalsawma also did his bit in the midfield on his first game in Yellow and Black.

Soyal Joshy got his first taste of ISL action too in what turned out to be a decent night for the Yellow and Black family.

The team heads into an international break and will be back in action on Monday, October 21, as we travel to Jamshedpur for another tough away trip.
