The young Nawabs will hope to leave an impact in last away game of the season
Hyderabad: After a tough night at the Maidaan against the league-leading Islanders, Hyderabad FC are back in action when they travel to the Fatorda to take on FC Goa this Friday, April 5.
A victory in this game will mathematically keep the Gaurs alive in the race for the league shield while Hyderabad, who are undefeated at Fatorda in the last three seasons, will want to put in a tough fight.
Coach Manolo Marquez’s side have picked up two wins in their last four games, but are only back in action in this game, after the international break.
Former HFC stars Nim Dorjee Tamang and Odei Onaindia have served Goa well at the back while Carlos Martinez, Noah Sadoui, Brandon Fernandes, Boris Singh Thangjam, Borja Herrera and Udanta Singh have all been effective in the final third.
“Goa are a tough side that will come out to win but our approach to this game will be the same,” said Coach Thangboi Singto, speaking to the media ahead of this game.
“We know they are under pressure to win this game but we will stick to our plans and try not to concede if we are to win this game,” he added.

Coach Thangboi’s side have been playing their heart out since the turn of the year. The likes of Alex Saji, Muhammed Rafi, Joao Victor, Ramhlunchhunga, Mark Zothanpuia, Laximkant Kattimani, Abdul Rabeh and Makan Chothe have all stepped up in the tough times.
But the impressive debutants like Aron Vanlalrinchhana, Joseph Sunny, Jeremy Zohminghlua and Abijith PA, have also stuck to their task well, having made the big jump from the reserves to the first team, mid-way through the season.
The young Nawabs will have another tough test this weekend and Coach Thangboi revealed that the message for his side now is “We have to finish the season in the best way possible, in terms of performances and presentation on and off the field.”
“So when we go to Goa, we go there to give our best and try to win,” he added.
Hyderabad will still be without the duo of Aaren D’Silva and Manoj Mohammad for this game. Muhammed Rafi is back from suspension adding further strength to the backline.
The game kicks-off at 7:30 pm IST on Friday, April 5 and will be telecasted live on Sports 18 and VH1, with free streaming on Jio Cinema.
