The young Nawabs put in a spirited performance against FC Goa; lose 2-0 to Carlos Martinez brace
Hyderabad: Thangboi Singto’s youthful Hyderabad FC side were put to the test by now-league leaders FC Goa in an eventful Indian Super League game at the Maidaan here on Thursday.
Carlos Martinez (7’, 30’) stuck twice before the half-hour mark as the visitors managed to keep the HFC attack in check to take all three points from this tie.
The Hyderabad FC backline toiled hard but conceded early from a set-piece, that set the tone for the game.

The likes of Alex Saji, Gurmeet Singh, Mark Zothanpiua and Joao Victor put on strong performances and were unlucky to be on the losing side.
Lalchhanhima Sailo and Sajad Parray were more than decent and so were Joseph Sunny, Abijith PA and Amon Lepcha all of who were on their ISL debut.
Hyderabad remain bottom of the league table after 12 games but will hope to put in a stronger performance in the upcoming clash against Odisha FC who visit the Maidaan on Monday, February 5.
