The Nawabs went 2 up early; concede 5 to drop all three points
Hyderabad: Hyderabad FC’s frustrating run of results continued here at the Gachibowli Stadium on Monday.
The Yellow and Black fell to a 2-5 defeat after Edmilson Correia’s brace (5’, 12’) gave them an early lead on the night.
Guillermo Fernández (18’, 61’), Alaaeddine Ajaraie (73’) and two own goals (54’, 78’) sealed the deal for the visitors, who registered their first win over HFC in almost five years.
Correia gave HFC a blazing start, scoring his first Indian Super League goal just five minutes into the game.
He doubled the lead with a superb half-volley but Hyderabad failed to tighten up the game and fell prey in the end.

Guillermo’s first goal came after a scrap in the box, where a couple of HFC blocks were futile and could not deny their goal.
Goalkeeper Karanjit Singh, on his debut, was left in the wake of a couple of wicked deflections from Lenny Rodrigues and Alex Saji, which deflated the Yellow and Black on the night.
Guillermo and Ajaraie made it five late in the game, giving The Highlanders three crucial points.
Abdul Rabeeh, Cy Goddard, Joseph Sunny, Stefan Sapic and Manoj Mohammad all put in a strong shift on the night.
But lack of defensive stability and bit of a good luck for the visitors saw HFC fall to a painful defeat on the night.
Hyderabad are back in action just this weekend when they host East Bengal at the Gachibowli Stadium, in a 5:00 pm kick-off on Saturday, December 28.
