Hyderabad FC pay for their mistakes in defeat to Goa

Hyderabad fail to convert chances; go down to clinical finishing from the visitors

Hyderabad: Hyderabad FC fell to a tough defeat against FC Goa here at the Gachibowli Stadium on Wednesday.

Goals from Udanta Singh (33โ€™) and Iker Guarrotxena (44โ€™) sealed the deal for the Gaurs on the night.

Missed chances was the story of the game once again for Hyderabad.

The HFC young guns created plenty of opportunities in front of goal, with the likes of Cy Goddard, Edmilson Correia, Abdul Rabeeh, Allan Paulista, Soyal Joshy and Andrei Alba all tried hard but failing to find the back of the net.

Thangboi Singtoโ€™s side registered 23 shots, seven on target while Goa got their two goals from their only two attempts on the night.

Hrithik Tiwari was the star on the night for the visitors. He pulled out a bunch of crucial saves to keep his clean sheet, leaving Hyderabad empty-handed.

Like against Mumbai, not taking their chances cost Hyderabad, who conceded from their only lapses of concentration on a tough evening at Gachibowli.

The HFC-faithful were loud, pushing the team right till the end, but it was not just their day.

HFC are back in action when they travel to the South coast to take on the Marina Machans next Wednesday, December 11.
