Hyderabad: Defender Manoj Mohammad has signed a contract extension with Hyderabad FC, the club announced on Friday.

Manoj pens a two-year deal with an option for a further extension, the club can confirm.

The 26-year-old is one of the most experienced players currently in the squad at Hyderabad FC. He joined the club back in 2022 and has since grown into a crucial part of the squad for the Nawabs.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed a contract extension with Hyderabad FC! It’s a fantastic feeling to know that I’ll be continuing my journey with this amazing club and its incredible fans,” said Manoj, after penning his new deal.

“The support and trust shown by the management and coaching staff has been overwhelming, and I’m excited to repay that faith by giving my best on the pitch. We’ve made some great progress as a team, and I’m eager to see what the future holds for us. Let’s keep pushing forward and making our fans proud,” he added.

A former Calcutta Football League winner, Manoj has since featured in every competition for the Yellow and Black.

He has 32 appearances for Hyderabad in all competitions, with 17 of them coming in the Indian Super League.

Manoj Mohammad has two goals and two assists to his name, in 11 appearances this season and has been crucial to HFC’s change in fortunes since the turn of the year.

At 26, Manoj will hit his prime as a professional footballer in the next few years and he has pledged that time to the Yellow and Black with his contract extension.

He has also become a fan favourite this season and will hope to continue to serve the Nawabs in the coming seasons.
