Hyderabad face Jamshedpur in Super Cup opener

The Nawabs look to start afresh in the knockout competition starting later this month

Hyderabad: Hyderabad FC have been drawn against fellow Indian Super League side Jamshedpur FC in the 2025 edition of the Kalinga Super Cup.

The Nawabs will face the Red Miners at the Kalinga Stadium on Thursday, April 24 at 8:00 pm. The Super Cup, which will be played in a single-leg knockout format is scheduled to kick off on the 20th of April.

It starts off with the Round of 16, where three I-League teams join the top-flight contenders.

And Hyderabad, who finished 12th in the recently concluded league season, were drawn against Jamshedpur FC, who finished 5th in the league table.

The Yellow and Black resumed training for the Super Cup earlier this week. They will be under the tutelage of Coach Shameel Chembakath for this competition. He will hope to put in a strong showing in Odisha.

Khalid Jamil’s side suffered a tough, late defeat against the Mariners in the semi-finals recently. They will want to turn things around in Odisha but will face a Hyderabad FC side that will settle for nothing less than a win.

The winners of this tie face the winners of the tie between NorthEast United and Mohammedan SC. That game is scheduled at the Kalinga Stadium on the same day in an earlier kick-off.
