Recent results give us confidence: Karanjit Singh

Karanjit Singh speaks to the media ahead of #NEUHFC

After a string of decent results in the Indian Super League, Hyderabad FC are back in action when they travel to Guwahati this Wednesday.

The Nawabs will take on NorthEast United at the Sarusajai on January 29, as both teams fight for all three points in a crunch league clash.

HFC Head Coach Shameel Chembakath was joined by goalkeeper Karanjit Singh as the duo addressed the media ahead of this game.

Here is what Karanjit had to say…

On his time at HFC…

Starting from the coaching staff, they give us a lot of confidence and are helping us improve in every training session. They explain to us the mistakes we made in the previous game and how to avoid them in the next game.

On the squad at HFC…

We have a lot of youngsters in the squad, who will obviously take time to adapt to the ISL. Our foreign players also have very little experience in the league except Cy Goddard. So everyone need time to adjust, especially with a new coach. But we are performing well in the last few games and are constantly working hard to improve and we hope to give NorthEast a tough game in Guwahati.

On the win against Jamshedpur FC…

The win against Jamshedpur was very important for us. It was our first home win after 20 games or something so every player is happy for the result. We have seven games remaining and we want to finish as high as possible in the table. The team is only getting better and the players are ready to give more than 100%. We are stronger as a team, have won some points in recent games and are confident for our trip to Guwahati.

On the recent form…

In the last few games, we took points against teams in the top-5 in the league table and a lot of the credit has to go to the staff and the young players. When you perform well against tough teams, the players are more vocal and help each other, which will only make us stronger.

On the clash against NorthEast United…

The game against NorthEast United is not going to be easy. They have the same squad for the second season running and are an experienced team who know how to get results. We know we need to make sure that we don’t make any mistakes and are ready to give our 100%, to try and win all three points.
