HFC continue search of first home win of 2025
Hyderabad: Shameel Chembakath’s Hyderabad FC are back in action this week.
They welcome Jamshedpur FC to the Gachibowli Stadium on Thursday, January 23, in another exciting Indian Super League clash here in Hyderabad.
The Nawabs have drawn three of their last four league games and will hope to go a step further and register all three points in this tie.
But they are up against a tough team in Jamshedpur FC, who are fourth in the league table and have lost just once in their last seven games.
Khalid Jamil’s side have an inform Stephen Eze, Javi Hernandez, Javi Siverio, Jordan Murray and Rei Tachikawa, who have been the top performers for his side this season.
Albino Gomes has been solid at the back while the likes of Muhammad Uvais, Sourav Das, Imran Khan and Mohammed Sanan have all been impressive throughout the campaign.

JFC are currently in the mix for the race to the shield and will settle for nothing less than all three points in this game.
This will make them a really tough side to face, says HFC Interim Coach Shameel Chembakath.
Speaking to the media ahead of this game, the coach said, “Jamshedpur are a very strong side, and we know that this will be a tough game for our team.”
“But we have assessed their strengths and weaknesses, have made some tactical tweaks and are definitely going to fight for all three points,” the coach added.
Hyderabad FC, on the other hand, have found some form in the last few games.
Having registered draws against East Bengal, Goa and Bengaluru FC, they will be confident of putting in a strong performance in this tie.
Stefan Sapic, Alex Saji who returns from a suspension, Manoj Mohammad and Abdul Rabeeh have been solid at the back in recent games, helping Arshdeep on goal.
Andrei Alba and Isaac Vanmalsawma have proven to be a formidable partnership in the middle.
Ramhlunchhunga, Devendra Murgaonkar, Allan Paulista and Joseph Sunny will all want to find the back of the net more regularly.
HFC will have to be at the top of their game to try and test a high-flying JFC side in this tie.

“We need to be strong as a unit and play as a team against a tough opponent in JFC,” said coach Shameel.
“We need to convert our chances and stick to our game plan. The boys are confident and motivated and if we can play to our plans, we can definitely get a good result in this game,” he added.
The game kicks off at 7:30pm IST on Saturday, January 18, and will be telecasted live on Sports 18 and Asianet with free streaming on Jio Cinema.
The Yellow and Black were cheered on by a noisy Hyderabad crowd in the previous game against Bengaluru.
The boys will hope to garner similar support for this tough game and will hope that the HFC faithful can make this game tougher for the visitors.
