Hyderabad take on the travelling Islanders

The Nawabs welcome Mumbai City to Gachibowli on Wednesday

Hyderabad: Shameel Chembakathโ€™s Hyderabad FC are back in action this week at the Maidaan.

Hyderabad FC take on Mumbai City FC in an exciting Indian Super League clash here at the Gachibowli Stadium on Wednesday, February 19.

The Islanders are right in the mix for a place in the top-6 and will settle for nothing less than three points on the night.

But Hyderabad have now won each of their last two home games and will make it difficult for Peter Kratkyโ€™s men on the night.

Mumbai City, like Hyderabad, are fresh from a 3-1 defeat and will be eager to get back to winning ways in this game.

Yoell van Nieff and Tiri have both been the best players for the Islanders in this season so far.

Lallianzuala Chhangte, Nikos Karelis, Nathan Rodrigues, Jon Toral, Vikram Pratap Singh, Mehtab Singh and Brandon Fernandes have all been impressive but not been consistent enough so far.

But Mumbai are a team that are never easy to beat and will pose a tough threat to his side said HFC Interim Coach Shameel Chembakath.

Speaking to the media ahead of this game, he said, โ€œMumbai City are a strong team with quality players across the field.โ€™

โ€œWe need to make sure that we reduce our mistakes, stop their attacking threats and stick to our plans to try and win this game,โ€ he added.

Hyderabad FC faltered against Odisha in the last round but have been in decent form since the turn of the year.

They beat Mohammedan and Jamshedpur in last two home games and will hope to continue the good work in front of the HFC faithful on Wednesday.

Stefan Sapic, Alex Saji and Manoj Mohammad have been solid at the back but will be tested against a tough Mumbai City attack.

Andrei Alba, is expected to be back after missing the last game. Him, along with Ayush Adhikari and Isaac Vanmalsawma have also been consistent in the midfield for Hyderabad.

Allan Paulista, Cy Goddard, Abdul Rabeeh, Ramhlunchhunga, Devendra Murgaonkar and Joseph Sunny will all want to have their say in attack.

His are ready to face the challenges against Mumbai City, said coach Shameel.

โ€œAgainst teams like Mumbai City, we know that we need to be calm and more mature in the game,โ€ he said.

โ€œWe need to try and control the game in every situation. We also need to make sure we make no mistakes and that is what we will focus on, in this game,โ€ the coach added.

Hyderabad will miss the services of Muhammed Rafi, who remains suspended for accumulation of cards.

But the Yellow and Black will field a strong XI on the night and will hope that the home support will help them against a tough side in Mumbai.

The Gachibowli Stadium proved to be the difference maker recently. The Nawabs are unbeaten in their last four league games at home and the support from the stands has had a big role to play in each of these games.
