Defensive lapses see Hyderabad fall to 3-0 defeat to MBSG
Kolkata: Hyderabad FC fell to a tough defeat in the Indian Super League at the Salt Lake Stadium here in Kolkata on Thursday.
An unlucky Stefan Sapic own goal (9’) kicked off the scoring for the hosts. Tom Aldred (41’) and Jason Cummings (51’) scored on either side of the break to give the Mariners a 3-0 win.
Sapic had a tough night and was found wanting for the first two goals. However, Hyderabad did put in a valiant effort at the back all throughout the game.
Alex Saji, Arshdeep Singh and Manoj Mohammad, all put in a solid shift, but were unlucky to concede three on the night.

The Nawabs did settle into the game and pushed the Mariners in the second half.
The likes of Allan Paulista, Edmilson Correia, Abdul Rabeeh and Abijith PA all had half chances, which could have changed the scoreline.
The best chances on the night fell to Allan and Abijith late in the second half. But they failed to convert, which would have set up an exciting finish to this game.
Individual errors at the back and not being clinical in front of goal cost Hyderabad another game in the ISL this season.
