Loan Watch: Anuj Kumar wins IFA Shield with Real Kashmir

HFC’s young custodian who is on loan with the Snow Leopards, claims top honours at 123rd IFA Shield

Vasco, Goa: Hyderabad FC goalkeeper Anuj Kumar, who is currently on loan at Real Kashmir, was part of the squad that won the historic IFA Shield tournament in Kolkata on Saturday. The 22-year-old, who featured in the earlier rounds in the competition, was an unused sub in the final as RKFC beat CFL side George Telegraph by 2-1 at the Salt Lake Stadium.

This was Anuj’s second triumph in one of India’s and world’s oldest football tournaments, having previously won in the 2017 edition. In Real Kashmir’s run to the final, Anuj played against Peerless SC and Southern Samity and gained some valuable experience out on loan.

The Snow Leopards will now be in action in the I-League which begins in January.
