HFC continue search for first win when they take on NorthEast United in Guwahati
Guwahati: Hyderabad FC continue their travels in the Indian Super League when they take on NorthEast United at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, December 10.
The Highlanders are currently sixth in the points table with nine points from their eight games while Hyderabad remain in twelfth, with three points to their name.
Juan Benali’s side are fresh from a 5-0 loss to East Bengal but have been a tough team to beat so far in this league. The likes of Nestor Albiach, Mohammed Bemammer, Michel Zabaco and Romain Philippoteaux have been in decent form this season.
Mirshad Michu on goal and Parthib Gogoi in attack have been the stand our performers for the Highlanders, who are going to be tough to beat, says HFC Head Coach Thangboi Singto.
“NorthEast are in a good position in the points table and we know we are playing catch up. They have experienced players and talented youngsters coming up and I think it will be a tough game for our boys, irrespective of the previous results,” said Coach Thangboi.
Hyderabad FC suffered another grueling loss to Mohun Bagan in the last round. The likes of Joe Knowles, Mohammad Yasir, Petteri Pennanen, Makan Chothe and Joao Victor were all close to scoring and will want to find the back of the net in Guwahati.

Gurmeet Singh has been in top form in goal but has been unlucky to not keep a clean sheet this season. Nim Dorjee Tamang and Chinglensana Konsham will look to continue their good work along with Nikhil Poojary and Sahil Tavora, but they will have to step up and improve to get the three points from this game.
“It is going to be a challenging game but we a group of players that are motivated and ready to give their everything in the 90 minutes,” said Coach Thangboi, speaking about his team’s preparations.
“We don’t have too much time to start getting results, and the onus is now on us to make sure that we can turn things around,” he added.
Hyderabad could move up a couple of positions in the points table with a positive result in this game.
The game kicks-off at 8:00pm IST on Sunday, December 10, and will be telecasted live on Sports 18 and VH1, with free streaming on Jio Cinema.
