The Nawabs fight back after an early own goal; Pete scores his maiden ISL goal
Guwahati: Hyderabad FC secured a point after going a goal down early in an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Indian Super League clash against NorthEast United at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday.
Nim Dorjee (8’; OG) was unlucky to put it past his own keeper with a deflection after a shot from range, but Petteri Pennanen (44’) canceled it out just before the break as the teams ended the game on level terms.
Hyderabad remain 12th in the league table, with 4 points while NorthEast United move a place up into sixth, with 10 points after this result.
Hyderabad star Nikhil Poojary was in sensational form, pulling out two last-man clearances, while also creating a couple of chances at the other end. But it was NorthEast who came close to scoring even after the goal, having hit the bar twice and constantly posing questions of Gurmeet Singh on goal.

But The Nawabs stood strong, found an equalizer after Yasir’s good run set up Pete for his first goal in HFC colours. The visitors grew into the game after the break, with the likes of Joe Knowles, Mohammad Yasir, Joao Victor and Ramhlunchhunga along with Abdul Rabeeh, Mark Zothanpuia and Makan Chothe, who came off the bench all testing the NorthEast backline.
Nim Dorjee Tamang and Chinglensana battled hard to keep the score down but Hyderabad struggled to find a winner, settling for a point on this trip to Guwahati.
The Nawabs are back in action for their seventh away game of the season when they take on Odisha FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, December 17.
