Hyderabad end Super Cup with tough defeat

Makan Chothe’s screamer topped off an improved second-half performance against SDFC

Bhubaneswar: Hyderabad’s young guns put on yet another gutsy display against local rivals Sreenidi Deccan FC in the Kalinga Super Cup here on Thursday. However, three goals in the first ten minutes gave SDEC a massive lead which decided the result on the night.

Makan Chothe scored from a superb curler in the 83rd minute, after Ibrahim Sissoko (5’), Eli Sabia (7’), Lalromawia (10’) and Kean Lewis (36’) took the game out of Hyderabad’s hand before the break.

Chothe along with Ramhlunchhunga, Mark Zothanpuia, Alex Saji, Abdul Rabeeh and Nim Dorjee were impressive all throughout the campaign and will now turn their attention towards the restart of the Indian Super League late this month.

Hyderabad will be in action when they welcome Manolo Marquez’s FC Goa to the Maidaan on Thursday, February 1.
