Hyderabad fall to tough defeat to Odisha

Clinical Odisha register big win on trip to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Yellow and Black had a tough outing against Odisha FC here on Monday.

The Nawabs fell to a 6-0 defeat as goals from Isak Vanlalruatfela (12’), Diego Mauricio (30’), Mourtada Fall (70’) Puitea (75’), Rahim Ali (89’) and an own goal (51’) sealed the deal on the night,

Coach Thangboi Singto, who took up the responsibility of the defeat after the game, played a strong side on the night.

But a sloppy start at the back saw Hyderabad go a goal down to a scrappy finish from Isak early in the game.

The visitors were then clinical with every chance they got, scoring five goals from just the six shots on target.

It was a lethargic performance in defence for Hyderabad but the attack had its moments on the night.

The Nawabs registered 19 shots, seven of which were on target but could not breach Amrinder Singh on goal.

Edmilson Correia, Allan Paulista, Abdul Rabeeh, Ramhlunchhunga, Lenny Rodrigues and Stefan Sapic all came close but it was just not Hyderabad’s night on Monday.

The result dents HFC’s goal difference, while Odisha move up to fourth position with a massive result.

Hyderabad FC are back in action when they travel to Mumbai to take on the Islanders on Wednesday, November 30.
