Hyderabad ready to host the Gaurs to Gachibowli

The Nawabs will be in search of their first home win this Wednesday

Hyderabad: Thangboi Singto’s Hyderabad FC will look to bounce back from consecutive losses when they take on FC Goa in the next round this week at the Gachibowli Stadium.

The Yellow and Black take on the Gaurs this Wednesday, December 4, in a promising Indian Super League encounter.

Former HFC Coach Manolo Marquez, who will feature in his 100th ISL game as a Head Coach took all three points from his last visit to the Maidaan in FC Goa colours.

Ex-Hyderabad stars Mohammad Yasir, Odei Onaindia, Borja Herrera, Sahil Tavora, and Nim Dorjee Tamang could also feature at the Gachibowli Stadium this Wednesday.

The Gaurs are fresh from three consecutive wins, rapidly climbing up the points table.

Iker Guarrotxena, Dejan Drazic, Carl McHugh, Armando Sadiku and Sandesh Jhingan are the strongholds for Goa and could trouble Hyderabad in this tie.

Speaking to the media ahead of this game, HFC Head Coach Thangboi Singto said, “FC Goa are a very strong team. They have players with National Team experience and also a bunch of experienced foreigners,” he said.

“They have quality all across the pitch. It will be a tough game and we know we have to be tougher as a team to get anything from the night,” he added.

Coach Thangboi, who went well past the 100 mark on an ISL bench, a couple of seasons ago, saw his side put in a valiant performance away to Mumbai just a couple of days ago.

Stefan Sapic, Alex Saji and Andrei Alba stood tall all night long to keep the score at 1-0 till the end.

Abdul Rabeeh, Ramhlunchhunga and Edmilson Correia will continue the search for their first goals of the season.

Cy Goddard, Allan Paulista, Ayush Adhikari, Parag Shrivas and Muhammed Rafi all need to step up their game against a tough side in FC Goa.

Coach Thangboi spoke about the same, ahead of the game.

“We are a young team that is still improving,” he said.

“But the boys have a great platform to prove themselves. It is important that they step up their game, fight for the badge and give FC Goa a tough game,” the coach added.

With the games coming thick and fast, both teams might ring in a few changes but will field their strongest possible XIs in search of all three points on the night.

The game kicks-off at 7:30 pm IST on Wednesday, December 4, and will be telecasted live on Sports 18 and Asianet with free streaming on Jio Cinema.
