Hyderabad FC name 25-man squad for Kalinga Super Cup

Shameel Chembakathโ€™s young Hyderabad FC aim for a long run in Odisha

Hyderabad: Hyderabad FC announced their 25-man squad for the upcoming Super Cup in Odisha.

Coach Shameel Chembakath will lead the side who kick-off their campaign in the Round of 16 tie against Jamshedpur on Thursday, April 24.

Defender Alex Saji will remain the club captain and will have a massive role to play in the competition.

With every foreigner registered, eligible to play in the starting XI, the likes of Stefan Sapic, Cy Goddard, Andrei Alba, Allan Paulista and Edmilson Correia will all want to make their mark in the knockout competition too.

Ramhlunchhunga, Abdul Rabeeh, Sourav K, Devendra Murgaonkar and Joseph Sunny have shown glimpses of what they can do in the recently concluded campaign.

They will also want to prove themselves and put in a strong performance, starting against Jamshedpur next Thursday.

Arshdeep Singh was one of the top performers for the Yellow and Black this season.

He will be joined by Karanjit Singh, Lalbiakhlua Jongte and Aaryan Saroha in Odisha as the goalkeeping unit.

Muhammed Rafi, Manoj Mohammad, Parag Shrivas, Leander Dโ€™Cunha, and Soyal Joshy are all fighting for spots in the backline and will also have a role to play for the Yellow and Black against a tough Jamshedpur side.

Ayush Adhikari, Isaac Vanmalsawma, Lenny Rodrigues and Abijith PA have all been superb in patches and will be the biggest dilemma in terms of team selection for coach Shameel.

Hyderabad play Jamshedpur at the Kalinga Stadium in an 8:00 pm kick-off.
