Panaji, Goa: A hard fought victory against Odisha FC gave Hyderabad FC a winning start to the new league campaign. The youngsters in the side impressed on the night, all round the field.

Defender Asish Rai played an instrumental role in HFC keeping the first clean sheet of their history. He made seven blocks, the most by any player in the game. “The 1-0 win over Odisha FC earned the club three important points and set the stage for the performances to come.”  said the 21-year-old.

“But the most important part of the game was that we managed to keep a clean sheet,” he added.

Mohammad Yasir, another of the impressive youngsters for Manolo Marquez’s side from the night, was also effective, playing in an attacking role. “We are happy with the result and are looking to improve our performance every match” said Yasir.

“The competition in the team is high and it is important that we maintain our levels of concentration for the remainder of the season,” the 22-year-old added.

Hyderabad FC face Bengaluru FC in their next Indian Super League game, on Saturday.
