Asish Rai began his career with the Pune FC Academy before moving to FC Pune City’s youth set up. The youngster was called up to the India U20 squad which also saw him become part of the Indian Arrows, as he made over 20 appearances for AIFF’s developmental side in the I-League. Known for his tenacious defending, Asish returned to join Hyderabad FC in their debut ISL season and has since been one of the first names on the team sheet, even under Manolo Marquez. He was a part of the 2021-22 ISL title-winning side before joining the Mariners for a new challenge in 2022.
