Hyderabad FC put up valiant effort in Jamshedpur

Mistakes in the first-half cost the game for the Nawabs

Jamshedpur: The young guns at Hyderabad FC put in a strong performance in a tough, 2-1 loss against Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur today.

Rei Tachikawa (29’) and Jordan Murray (44’) scored for the hosts while Cy Goddard (50’) pulled one back early in the second half to set up a tense finish.

Ramhlunchhunga and Abdul Rabeeh were too hot to handle at times for JFC, but neither player converted the chances that could have out Hyderabad on top in what was a sensational first half hour from the Yellow and Black.

Alex Saji, Muhammed Rafi, Leander D’Cunha and Stefan Sapic all did their job well at the back.

But a couple of mistakes are all it took for the JFC to run away with all three points.

Cy Goddard was majestic in the middle of the park, creating a galore of chances. He did find the back of the net early in the second half from close range, which set up a super end to the game.

The young guns pushed till the end and could have scored as late as seven minutes into stoppage time as well, but it was the lack of ruthlessness in front of goal that killed the game for Hyderabad.

Hyderabad FC made 18 attempts at goal, 8 on target, but only have a goal to show for as they will look to work on finishing chances in the next game.

HFC are back in action on the road when they visit the Kishore Bharati Krirangan, to take on Mohammedan SC, on Saturday, October 26
