Hyderabad recorded their first-ever double over Chennaiyin in a hard-fought display at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco on Sunday. We take a look at the stats that tilted the tie in our favour
1 Shot on Target
Chennaiyin FC came close on a couple of occasion against Hyderabad but registered just the one shot on target, which was an easy save for Laxmikant Kattimani on our goal. Hyderabad, on the other hand, registered two shots on target and scored from both.
3 Chances Created
Hyderabad FC’s Joao Victor and Chennaiyin FC’s Isma, both created three chances each in the game on Sunday. While Joao picked up two assists, thanks to clinical finishing from our strikers, Chennaiyin could not make the most of their chances and failed to test our goalkeeper.
6 Tackles
The ‘Hero of the Match’ Asish Rai, made six successful tackles in the game against Chennaiyin, three more than any other player on the field. The right-back was one of the best players on the night and played a crucial role in keeping a clean sheet.
4 Fouls Suffered
Our goal scorer Fran Sandaza and Chennai’s Lallianzuala Chhangte suffered four fouls each in that entertaining evening in Vasco. The duo was effective at either end of the field but was at different ends of the result.

And finally, Hyderabad FC scored 13 goals in their seven games in the month of January, more than any other team in the league. We were also unbeaten and end the month in the 3rd place in the league table.
