Five HFC players called up to Indian National Team for upcoming World Cup qualifiers

Igor Stimac names Chinglensana, Akash, Yasir, Liston and Adil in 28-man squad

Five Hyderabad FC players have made the cut in the 28-member Indian National Team squad announced by Head Coach Igor Stimac for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in June.

Defenders Chinglensana Singh, Akash Mishra, midfielder Mohammad Yasir and attacker Liston Colaco have all been named in the squad and will be joined by defender Adil Khan who returns from his loan spell at FC Goa.

India, who leave for Doha on Wednesday, are slated to play their remaining three matches in Group E of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers, against Asian champions Qatar (June 3) and neighbors Bangladesh (June 7) and Afghanistan (June 15) at a centralized venue in Doha, Qatar.


Fixtures

June 3: India vs Qatar (IST 10.30pm).

June 7: Bangladesh vs India (IST 7.30pm).

June 15: India vs Afghanistan (IST 7.30pm).
