Indian Super League, Round 8
Hyderabad FC rued their missed chances as FC Goa came back from behind to take all three points in Vasco on Wednesday. Here are some stats from the 1-2 defeat against The Gaurs, which suggest there might not have been much to separate the two sides.
5 Shots on target
Hyderabad FC have never been shy of taking shots from in and around the box and against Goa, they registered five shots on target. They scored from just one of those but could have easily had a couple of more on another day.
Described as a tactically astute match, we broke our opposition’s passing phases down in dangerous areas, throughout the 90 minutes. Akash Mishra and Chinglensana Singh were the picks of the game with three successful interceptions each.
Aridane came up clutch yet again, powering in a smart header in the 59th minute from a smart Asish Rai cross. It was his 5th goal of the season, and 14th in ISL so far.
91% Pass Accuracy
Even though the defence conceded two goals again, there was a certain maturity found in Chinglensana Singh. He was rather neat in possession, completing 30 of his 33 attempted passes. Only James Donachie from the opposition’s rank could manage the same efficiency.
As shown above, Sana was really smart with his passing but more importantly, he also made crucial defensive contributions to the side. He made eight clearances on the night and had a complete performance, sadly in a losing cause.
