Kattimani, Poojary and Tavora form the captain’s group at the club for the new season
Hyderabad: A loyal servant of the Nawabs for over three years now, Brazilian midfielder Joao Victor will continue to be the first-team captain for Hyderabad FC, the club announced on Friday.
The 34-year-old remains a key part of the squad with plenty of fresh faces on show in the upcoming campaign.
He is also the top goalscorer currently active at the club and will be a crucial part of the team in the Indian Super League this season.
Joao is joined by keeper Laxmikant Kattimani, who is one of the senior-most pros in the squad.
The Goan-born shot-stopper’s heroics helped HFC to their first-ever trophy and he will continue to be a part of the captain’s group for the new season.
Nikhil Poojary, who is now one of the most consistent players in the country, is also a senior figure and will yet again be a leader at the club.
Midfielder Sahil Tavora, who has been at the club right from its inception, joins the group of captains this season, after receiving an overwhelming majority of votes from his teammates recently.
Tavora is a firm fan favorite, a crucial part of the squad and will complete the group of captains at the club for the new season.
Hyderabad FC kick-off their ISL campaign with a trip to Kolkata to face East Bengal on Saturday, September 30.
