Indian Super League, Round 4
Fielding just two foreigners, Hyderabad FC put up a spirited performance against ATK Mohun Bagan at Fatorda, coming back from a goal down to earn a point. There were a number of impressive performances on the night and here are some underlying numbers from that game
5 Fouls Drawn
Liston Colaco came up clutch in the absence of Aridane Santana, as he caused plenty of problems to an otherwise calm ATK Mohun Bagan defense. He befittingly won the Hero of the Match award with a performance that also included six shots and a cheeky nutmeg.
318 Passes completed
The calm and collective display at Fatorda from Hyderabad FC also reflects in the stats. While ATKMB managed just 180 successful passes, Manolo Marquez’s men completed 318 passes at an accuracy of 71%, keeping the hosts on their toes, most of the game.
14 Tackles
The defensive pairing of Chinglensana and Odei Onaindia were helped well by the midfielders and full-backs. HFC made 14 successful tackles against Antonio Habas’ men, constantly frustrating an attack that has done well previously in the season.
3 chances created
Though the game produced just the two goals, HFC winger Halicharan Narzary and ATKMB attacker Manvir Singh created three chances each in the game, more than any other player on the field.
79 touches
One of the most consistent performers for us this season, Asish Rai registered 79 touches of the ball on Friday, comfortably more than any other player on the field.
6 saves
Though he missed out on another clean sheet, Subrata Paul put in a stellar performance against The Mariners. He made six, very important saves to keep his side in the game and was very crucial in Hyderabad earning a point on Friday.
Special Mention
21-year old Lalawmpuia’s made his Hyderabad FC coming on in the 76th minute as he replaced Souvik Chakrabarti. This was also his first-ever appearance at the senior level and the Mizoram-born youngster made a good impact in the closing stages of the game.
